New Season and Exciting Changes for College Golf Programs

This fall, college golf is getting ready to kick off another thrilling season. It’s a time when the top programs in the country are gearing up for competition, with expectations running high. Recently, Golf Channel’s Brentley Romine unveiled his preseason rankings, and several teams and players are catching the attention of golf fans.

Among the highlights, Stanford University tops the rankings after an impressive performance last season, finishing as national champions. They return key players such as Paula Martin Sampedro and Kelly Xu, and are bolstered by the addition of a strong freshmen class including Andrea Revuelta.

As a new head coach, Laura Ianello takes over at Texas, inheriting a talented roster ready to compete. The team features sophomores Farah O’Keefe and Lauren Kim, both of whom showed promising performances last season, with expectations to continue making an impact on the course.

USC holds a solid position as well, coming in at fourth in the rankings. They retain their leading player, Catherine Park, who delivered standout performances last season. The roster also includes promising recruits such as Jasmine Koo and Kylie Chong.

Other noteworthy teams include UCLA aiming to build on last year’s success following a runner-up finish at the NCAA Championship, and South Carolina, which looks to return to form after transitioning through some postseason challenges last season.

As the countdown begins, important dates to remember are the NCAA Regionals set for May 5-7, 2024, at various host sites, and the NCAA Championship, taking place from May 16-21, 2025, at the Omni La Costa Resort in California.

With strong programs, standout players, and high stakes, the upcoming college golf season promises to deliver excitement and fierce competition, setting the stage for memorable moments on the links.
