The Kolter Group Acquisitions has announced plans for Cresswind, a new senior living community in Lancaster County spanning 870 acres. With 853 home lots and extensive green spaces, the community aims to provide a vibrant lifestyle for seniors. The proposed development will feature a public boulevard, various amenities, and business spaces. Community meetings are scheduled for public feedback prior to the project’s zoning changes and approvals.
Get ready, Lancaster County! Big changes are heading your way as the Kolter Group Acquisitions has just put the wheels in motion for a brand new senior living community called Cresswind. This development, which is set to stretch over an impressive 870 acres, is anticipated to bring an exciting new age-restricted community, just a stone’s throw south of Sun City in Indian Land.
So, what can residents expect from this proposed community? The plans submitted by the Kolter Group reveal a sketch showing space for 853 thoughtfully designed home lots. While the exact cost of this ambitious project remains under wraps, it’s clear that this development aims to cater to the needs and dreams of senior citizens looking for a vibrant community.
The new community will extend from Van Wyck Road, aligning with existing senior living homes at Sun City, all the way to U.S. 521 (also known as Charlotte Highway) and southward via a railroad line, giving it a prime location that’s hard to beat.
Speaking of locations, the development plan includes a brand-new public boulevard that will enhance accessibility with two main entry points: one will be accessible from Charlotte Highway near Henry Harris Road, and the other from Van Wyck Road close to River Bend Boulevard. This is great news for anyone who values convenience and wants easy access to their community!
But that’s not all! At the heart of the community, set aside is a 7-acre amenity area. This space promises to be a hub of activity and relaxation. While plans show the possibility of it being divided into two sections, rest assured, plenty of fun and relaxation opportunities will await residents.
Additionally, more than 13 acres of business space is planned at the main entrance on Charlotte Highway, along with 3 acres earmarked for institutional use for essential services, such as parks or emergency services. This blend of residential and commercial plans is designed to create a lively, functional community that meets all your needs.
The Planning Commission of Lancaster County will be discussing the proposal further on January 21. They will help formulate recommendations for the Lancaster County Council, which will review the project on or after January 27. It’s an exciting time, but keep in mind that multiple votes will be necessary before any final decisions are made, and the process is expected to take at least a month.
