NFL Preseason: Rising Stars Shine Among 2024 Quarterback Class

NFL Preseason: Rising Stars Shine Among 2024 Quarterback Class

This year’s NFL preseason in Kansas City and across the country is turning heads, particularly with the performance of the 2024 quarterback class. Although it’s early days in the preseason, these rookies are exceeding expectations, showcasing their skills against backup defenses and simplified schemes. As Week 2 wraps up, we see three quarterbacks making the rookie rankings, with another just missing out.

The lack of surprise comes from the consistent play of these quarterbacks, as they adapt quickly to professional football. Among those who stood out this week is Jayden Daniels from the Washington Commanders, who has shown impressive efficiency with a completion rate of 80% over two games time. In the same vein, Caleb Williams of the Chicago Bears, the first overall pick, had a mix of highs and lows, but when he’s on, he makes spectacular plays that reassure fans of his potential as a pro.

Drake Maye of the New England Patriots is also beginning to find his rhythm. After a tough debut, his improvement has sparked conversations that he could rapidly find himself in the starting lineup. Meanwhile, Bo Nix of the Denver Broncos is another name to watch, as signs suggest he could soon be named a starter after impressing in recent games.

But it’s not all about the quarterbacks. The 2024 rookie class features other stars, such as Sione Vaki transitioning from safety to running back for the Detroit Lions, and Omar Speights making waves at linebacker for the Los Angeles Rams. Their performances highlight the depth of talent emerging from this draft class.

As preseason games continue, fans should keep an eye on how these rookies develop. The rankings reset with the regular season, but signs are promising that this year’s class is one to watch as they strive to make their mark in the NFL.
