NFL Teams Finalize Roster Cuts Before Season Begins

As the NFL season approaches, teams around the league have made critical decisions regarding their rosters. Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET marked the deadline for all teams to finalize their rosters down to 53 players. While some teams made their cuts known early, others waited until the last minute to reveal their decisions.

In New England, the Patriots cut ties with a quarterback who previously competed for the starting job against Mac Jones. They also parted ways with kicker Ryland, who struggled last season, converting only 16 of 25 field goals. Meanwhile, the Kansas City Chiefs released veteran wide receiver Toney, whose two-year stint with the team was highlighted by a memorable offsides call against the Buffalo Bills. The former first-round pick caught just 27 passes for 169 yards last season.

In Atlanta, the Falcons waived quarterback Ridder, who was seen as a potential star from the 2022 draft but failed to make a significant impact. Another quarterback, Malik Willis, was traded to the Green Bay Packers after not finding success with the Tennessee Titans. Rookie quarterback Bo Nix is also experiencing shake-ups, as the Denver Broncos released wide receiver Tim Patrick, who has faced two consecutive seasons of injuries.

The Texans cut receiver Brown, a 28-year-old who caught 33 passes for 567 yards in his single season with the team. Additionally, the Minnesota Vikings cut former first-round pick Cine, who has struggled to stay healthy since joining the league.

In Tennessee, the Titans let go of cornerback Farley, another first-round pick hampered by injuries. Meanwhile, the New York Giants decided to cut Robinson, a former 1,000-yard receiver who has yet to find a stable home over the past few seasons.
