Non-profits rally for Rock Hill Cleanup and Aid

The Non-profit organizations across Rock Hill are making a significant impact following the aftermath of a recent storm. These non-profit organizations are not only looking for volunteers to aid in cleanup operations but are also stepping forward to provide services to those severely affected by the incident. Upon the urging call, the power of community service is being displayed, enabling the city to recover more effortlessly.

Non-profits Needs Cleanup Volunteers

Various Non-profit organizations in the city like the Pathways Community Center and the Housing Development Corporation have come together collaboratively to initiate cleanup drives. They currently have a list of 20 properties that require debris and limb cleanup. To expedite the cleanup process, they are seeking volunteers to assist in gathering the debris and taking it to the curb.

Debris Removal and Meal Preparation Required at Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity of York County, another crucial non-profit in the city, is urging volunteers to help with debris removal and meal preparation. With potential emergency response home repairs on the horizon, this is a time for the entire community to band together and make a positive impact on people’s lives.

Calls for Help at Bethelwoods Camp and Conference Center

The Bethelwoods Camp and Conference Center, a non-profit summer camp and retreat center in York, also sustained extensive damage due to the storm. Several trees have fallen, obstructing paths and yards at the camp that require immediate attention. Cleanup tasks also include the removal of leaves and debris from paths and roofs of buildings.

Hot Meals and Resources for Those in Need

Understanding the essential requirements of the community members on the south side of Rock Hill affected by the storm-induced power outage, the non-profit Victory Gardens International is providing free, hot, and healthy farm-to-table meals. In collaboration with the FARMacy Community Farmstop, they will serve these meals on-site and are also seeking volunteers for their 5 PM service. Donations of ice, water, baby wipes, and coolers are greatly appreciated.

Persistent Aid Despite the Odds

The Dorothy Day Soup Kitchen, known for its invaluable services to the community, is also offering persistent aid despite the unfortunate circumstances. With the soup kitchen’s power not yet restored, they continue to serve the community by distributing peanut butter and jelly sandwich bags. They also plan to provide Chick-fil-A chicken sandwiches, demonstrating resilience and relentless service.

Community Efforts Are Essential

Rock Hill is an epitome of unity, demonstrating that collaboration is the key to resilience despite adversity. Its non-profit organizations, alongside their efforts, are advocating the power of community service. The present scenario calls for as many hands on deck as possible – volunteers, resources, and continuous support. To those willing to help, your involvement is not only crucial but also deeply valued as the city works towards restoration.
