In Ohio, the excitement continues as high school football teams gear up for another thrilling Friday night of games on Week 4 of the regular season. With all games scheduled to kick off at 7 p.m., local fans have plenty to cheer for, as the action heats up leading to the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) state playoffs in November.
Today’s lineup features several matchups that have fans buzzing. The results from earlier matchups show some teams really stepping up this season. For instance, Perry took down Lake with a score of 17 to 7, making a strong statement. Mckinley also had a solid performance against Glenoak, winning decisively with a score of 35 to 6. In another exciting game, Green narrowly defeated Hoover, finishing at 21 to 19.
On the bigger end of the scoreboards, Massillon dominated with a 41 to 7 win against Canisius (N.Y.). Malvern also showcased their strength this week with a convincing 41 to 7 victory over Tusky Valley. The competition was tight in the game between Triway and Fairless, which ended with a score of 17 to 7. Another notable highlight was Louisville securing a 38 to 13 win against Marlinton, and West Branch brought in a solid 20 to 6 game over Young. Chaney.
As the teams battle on the field, the stakes get higher, with the OHSAA state championship games set for December 5-7 at the Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton. This marks the fourth consecutive year that all the titles will be contested at this venue.
With the regular season offering only 10 games, every match is crucial for teams as they aim for a place in the playoffs. This week saw many of the area’s best teams shining bright, creating an electric atmosphere for fans, players, and coaches alike.
