High School Football Rankings Update: Omaha Dominates

This week in Omaha, the Nebraska High School Football Coaches Poll has released its ratings following week eight of the 2024 season, and some teams are making a strong case for their playoff potential. With the season winding down, every game matters more than ever.

Leading the Class A standings is Omaha Westside, who remains undefeated with a record of 8-0. Hot on their heels is Millard South at 7-1, followed closely by Kearney and Elkhorn South, each boasting a record of 7-1 as well. Omaha North is also showing promise with a 6-2 record, rising in the ranks.

In Class B, Skutt Catholic holds strong at the top with a 7-1 record, while Bennington and Elkhorn North are close behind, both also at 7-1. Seward is another noteworthy team, remaining undefeated at 8-0.

As for Class C-1, Norfolk Catholic leads the way with an impressive 8-0 record, followed by Bishop Neumann and Hartington Cedar Catholic, both sporting records of 7-1.

In smaller classes, Stanton and Sandy Creek are among the unbeaten teams, each with perfect records of 8-0 as they strive for postseason success. Additionally, Sumner-Eddyville-Miller, Hay Springs, and Pawnee City all hold strong at 7-0 each, showcasing the high level of talent across the state.

Teams are gearing up for the final stretch, and fans can vote for the Pinnacle Bank Game of the Week. The polling begins at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday and closes at noon on Wednesday. This is a chance to spotlight the most exciting match-up of the week.

As the season heats up, keep an eye on these teams as they chase glory on the gridiron!
