Pittsburgh is gearing up for an exciting football season as the Steelers High School Showcase Game of the Week, presented by Giant Eagle and the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, is set to make its return for the 2024 season. This year promises to be “bigger and better” than ever, continuing to highlight the team’s strong support for youth football in the Western Pennsylvania area.
One of the most significant changes this season is the addition of a weekly television broadcast for the featured game on KDKA+. The kickoff is scheduled for August 23, when Montour will host Central Valley at 7 p.m. Dan Rooney, the Steelers Director of Business Development & Strategy, expressed excitement for the expanded coverage, noting, “Celebrating the game of football – at all levels – is something that is important to us.”
In addition to the game broadcasts, the Steelers will energize each week’s match by featuring a current or former player who will serve as a co-captain, in addition to the beloved team mascot, Steely McBeam. Fans can also look forward to live social media coverage of the games on official Youth Football platforms, along with highlight packages shared across these platforms and on the Steelers’ website.
Launched in 2018, the High School Showcase Game of the Week is part of the Steelers’ ongoing efforts to promote youth football. Viewers can enjoy a list of games that will air weekly on KDKA+, with the entire 2024 schedule already published:
