Playoff Action Heats Up in Cincinnati High School Football

On a chilly Saturday in Cincinnati, high school football teams battled for a shot to advance in the playoffs. Fans filled the stands, igniting the atmosphere with excitement as local teams faced off in crucial matchups.

Moeller continued their impressive run, improving to 13-1 for the season with a strong performance. They topped their rival and will advance to the state semifinals, where they will meet Centerville next week. On the flipside, St. Xavier finished their season at 10-4 but can hold their heads high after a commendable year.

Another notable game featured La Salle, which celebrated its victory to boost their record to 11-2. They are now set to face the unbeaten Anderson for the regional title next week. This matchup is expected to draw a lot of attention, as both teams are in excellent form.

Taft had standout performances from Aaron Dowdell Jr., who made significant contributions on both sides of the ball. He scored on a pick-six and also punched it in with a rushing touchdown. Matt Ponatoski shined under center, throwing four touchdown passes, two of which were to Matthew Fogler. Meanwhile, Cam O’Hara made his mark by throwing for three touchdown passes in the first half, keeping the pressure on their opponents. Additionally, Ryker Campbell had a key interception that helped his team gain momentum.
