Salem, Oregon – The high school football regular season has wrapped up, and now it’s time for the postseason. Local team Sprague High School is looking to bounce back as they prepare to host Clackamas in the Statesman Journal’s Game of the Week. This exciting matchup is set for Friday at 7 p.m. in a 6A Open first-round game.
Sprague enters the playoffs as the sixth seed with an impressive record of 8 wins and 1 loss. However, they are coming off a tough loss, having been defeated 52-7 by Sheldon last week. That game not only ended their winning streak but also determined the 6A Special District 1 title.
On the other hand, the No. 11 seed Clackamas has a record of 6 wins and 3 losses. They also faced a disappointing loss in their last game, going down 37-7 against Nelson. Clackamas finished in third place in the Mt. Hood Conference and is eager to turn things around in the playoffs.
The stakes are high for both teams, as the winner of this matchup will advance to play against third-seeded Sheldon in Eugene next week. Football fans can look forward to an intense and thrilling game on Friday night.
Stay tuned for score updates and highlights from the Sprague-Clackamas game, as well as other playoff scores from Salem-area teams and across the state. Detailed takeaways from this matchup will be available on Saturday.
