Rock Hill Falls to Lexington in SCISA Playoffs Rematch

The Lexington Lady Wildcats displayed a resilient effort in their rematch against Rock Hill, prevailing 42-39 in the second round of the Class 5A Upper State playoffs.

Seniors Jenna Yanity and Maggie Green, along with sophomore Izzy Saville, powered the Lady Wildcats to victory, combining for 30 points. Green’s 11 points led the team.

The game was close throughout, with Lexington trailing for much of the first period, before taking a 17-16 lead into the second period. The Lady Bearcats were able to edge ahead 24-23 heading into the half before the Lady Wildcats regained the lead with a jumper from Green at 4:34 in the third period.

The Lady Bearcats fought back with offensive rebounds and second chance baskets, but Lexington was able to hold a slim 40-39 lead with just over two minutes left in the third. The Lady Wildcats closed the game out with a score of 42-39.

The Lady Wildcats will now travel to Mauldin for the third round on Feb. 22.
