Update: Teenager in Rock Hill McDonald’s Shooting Now in Critical Condition

In Rock Hill, South Carolina, a teenager who was previously on life support following a shooting in a McDonald’s parking lot on the evening of Sunday, August 25, has seen a slight improvement in his medical condition. As of Tuesday, September 3, the 18-year-old male has been upgraded to critical condition.

The Incident

The distressing incident took place around 6:30 p.m. near South Cherry Road, adjacent to Oakland Avenue. The teen appeared to have been shot while conversing with individuals who were stationed inside a parked car. After being critically wounded, he was rushed to a hospital where he was placed on life support. His condition remained critical throughout the following week.

The Investigation

Swiftly reacting to the incident, the Rock Hill Police made an arrest within 24 hours. Jameson Dunham, a 20-year-old male, was detained on August 26 with charges including accessory after the fact. Following an extensive investigation, law enforcement identified Dunham’s brother, Jerrique Dunham, as the alleged shooter. The police have since then issued a warrant for his arrest for attempted murder.
