Rock Hill Welcomes New Additions to Winthrop Baseball Coaching Staff

Rock Hill, SC – Winthrop Baseball head coach, Mike McGuire, has introduced four new additions to the coaching staff, bringing a wealth of experience and talent to the program.

New Recruits

Tim Perry, Mike Napolitano, Ryan Miller, and Dan Gueldner are set to join the Eagles, each bringing unique skills and backgrounds to the team.

Tim Perry:

Perry joins Winthrop as the recruiting coordinator and pitching coach, with a strong track record of player development. He previously served at Coastal Carolina and has collegiate coaching experience at multiple institutions.

Mike Napolitano:

Napolitano will take on the role of hitting coach and catching instructor. With previous coaching stints at Babson College and Misericordia University, he brings a wealth of knowledge in developing players both offensively and defensively.

Ryan Miller and Dan Gueldner:

Miller will serve as the director of pitching development, having played collegiate baseball at Longwood and Pittsburgh. Gueldner, on the other hand, will handle player development responsibilities, bringing experience from USC Upstate and various coaching roles.

Excitement for the Future

McGuire expressed his enthusiasm for the new additions, highlighting their expertise in recruiting, player development, and overall coaching abilities. The diverse backgrounds of the incoming staff members are expected to elevate the program to new heights.

Casey Schuermann will continue as an assistant coach, providing continuity and his valuable skills to the team.

Eddie Hill will maintain his position as the director of baseball operations, contributing his extensive experience and knowledge to the program.

With the new coaching staff in place, Winthrop Baseball is poised for a successful season ahead. The combination of seasoned veterans and fresh talent bodes well for the Eagles as they prepare to compete at the highest level.
