Seahawks Suffer Key Injuries to Nwosu and Burns in Preseason Matchup Against Browns

In Seattle, the Seahawks faced a tough situation during their preseason game against the Cleveland Browns on Saturday night. After surviving the first two preseason matchups without any injury setbacks, the team’s luck took a turn for the worse in the first quarter.

Defensive linebacker Uchenna Nwosu, who had recently returned from an earlier injury, was injured early in the game. He was taken down by a chop block from Browns guard Wyatt Teller, which left him slow to get up. Nwosu managed to jog off the field under his own power, but he was later seen with his left knee wrapped in ice after going into the medical tent. Shortly after that, he headed back to the locker room, raising concerns about the severity of the injury.

Later in the first quarter, cornerback Artie Burns also went down with an injury. It appeared to be a non-contact issue as he was seen hopping on his right leg and grabbing his left foot in visible pain. Burns left the field and was carted off without a shoe on his left foot, after making two tackles in the game before his injury.

These injuries hit the Seahawks hard, especially with the defense already feeling the impact of recent trades that saw cornerback Mike Jackson Sr. go to the Carolina Panthers and linebacker Darrell Taylor move to the Chicago Bears. Nwosu’s injury occurred during a series where the defensive starters were on the field for the first time, while Burns was injured on the second defensive possession.

Head coach Mike Macdonald will provide further updates on the injuries after the game. As it stands, Nwosu’s injury is classified as a knee issue, and Burns is reported to have hurt his foot. However, the extent of both injuries remains uncertain at this time.
