The No. 6 Lions secured a narrow victory over No. 11 Monson with a score of 1-0 in the Div. 5 Round of 16 of the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association state tournament.
The defining moment of the match came early when Emma Collette netted the historic goal just two minutes in, as her shot from the right side was deflected into the net by a Monson defender. On the defensive front, Meah Dalrymple played a crucial role in effectively neutralizing Monson’s leading scorer, Hannah Murphy. Dalrymple’s strong performance, along with the solid defense provided by Kiera O’Malley, Devin Crofford, Ariel Thompson, and Maddy Boyle, ensured that Monson couldn’t find their footing offensively.

Brooke Chicoine scored the only goal, finding the net in the third quarter. This victory advances the Dolphins to the Final Four, where they will face undefeated Watertown.
