Stafford Park Christmas Light Show Achieves Record-Breaking Donations and Community Outreach

Stafford Park Christmas Light Show Sets New Record

The atmosphere was one of unbridled joy and enthusiasm in Rock Hill, South Carolina at the Stafford Park Christmas Light Show held over the weekend. This annual event not only brings in spectators by the droves, with its magnificent showcase of twinkling Christmas lights, but also aims to support the community in more tangible ways.

Community Outreach

This year, the Christmas Light Show succeeded in setting a new record in the field of community outreach. With hundreds of people driving through the enchanting streets of Stafford Park, the collection reached a phenomenal total of nearly $10,000 in donations. That’s not all. The spirit of giving enveloped spectators and organizers alike, resulting in an impressive collection of more than 250 toys, all donated for the benefit of “Toys for Happiness” with WRHI.

Food Donations

Stafford Park didn’t stop at toy donations, in an effort to spread goodwill they also managed to assemble an astounding weight of over 1,578 pounds of non-perishable food items. These will reach tables that need them most through the Dorothy Day Soup Kitchen, making a significant difference in the lives of those who are less fortunate during the holiday seasons.

A Record in Cash Donations

The effort of the community members did not only translate into toys and food. The Christmas Light Show also witnessed a record in cash donations, amounting to more than $9,000. The cash collected will also provide support and joy to the recipients at “Toys for Happiness”.

Favourite House

The house pictured above was awarded the coveted title of first place. Votes were cast by the hundreds of drivers who journeyed through the lit streets of Stafford Park. As a testament to the spirit of the Christmas Light Show, houses were decorated with an eye towards spreading joy, and each vote cast was a tribute to their hard work and dedication.

A Successful Run

Organized by Dean Archer in its 29th year, the Stafford Park Christmas Light Show has surpassed previous records, gathering impressive numbers in donations, both in kind and cash. But beyond the numbers and data, the real success of the event lies in the warmth it has brought to the community, reflecting the true spirit of Christmas – giving. While the show has come to a close this year, one can only look forward to what the next Christmas season will bring!
