Tri-County Football Players Recognized in Week Zero

York County, SC – In an exciting kickoff to the high school football season, coaches from York, Lancaster, and Chester counties have named this week’s standout players across the Tri-County area. The announcements reflect the thrilling performances witnessed during Week Zero action, showcasing exceptional talent on both offensive and defensive fronts.

Who Stood Out?

The 5A/4A Player of the Week award goes to Landon Stone from Clover High School. Stone’s contributions were pivotal in helping his team secure a solid start to the season. In addition, the Offensive Player of the Week honor has been awarded to Dailan Duncan of South Pointe, who delivered a remarkable performance that left fans in awe.

On the defensive end, Nolan Jones from Catawba Ridge takes home the Defensive Player of the Week award, demonstrating impressive skills that proved crucial for his team. Meanwhile, in the trenches, Ethan McNutt from South Pointe has been recognized as the Offensive Lineman of the Week, proving himself indispensable in protecting his quarterback and facilitating scoring opportunities.

From the defensive line, Catawba Ridge’s Connor McFadden has earned the title of Defensive Lineman of the Week, showcasing a strong presence on defense. The Special Teams category has resulted in a tie between Noah Hardy of Fort Mill and Eric Johnson from Catawba Ridge, both of whom excelled in their respective roles.
