Nashville, Tennessee – Week 3 TSSAA Football Rankings Released

This week, the USA TODAY Sports Network shared the latest statewide rankings for the 2024 TSSAA football season. These rankings are based on the performance of teams over the first three weeks, and our Tennessee sports writers will vote each week to determine the standings.

Division I Highlights

In the Division I rankings, McKenzie remains at the top, receiving a perfect score of 100 points with an impressive record of 2-0 after maintaining their number one spot from last week. Hot on their heels is Coalfield, who soared to second place from fifth with 79 points and also a 2-0 record. Other notable teams include:

  • Oliver Springs (3rd) – 72 pts, Record: 1-1
  • Gordonsville (4th) – 70 pts, Record: 2-0
  • South Pittsburg (5th) – 68 pts, Record: 1-1

Division II Highlights

Looking at Division II, East Robertson also kept their top position with 100 points and a 2-0 record. Close behind is Marion County at second with 89 points, also undefeated at 2-0. Other teams making a mark include:

  • Fairley (3rd) – 76 pts, Record: 1-0
  • Riverside (4th) – 72 pts, Record: 1-1
  • Huntingdon (5th) – 59 pts, Record: 0-1

Additional Rankings

In divisions across the board, teams like Alcoa, Houston, and Pearl-Cohn also continue to make waves early in the season. The competitive nature of Tennessee high school football is clearly evident as teams fight for the top spots.
