Vermont High School Football Season Kicks Off with Thrilling Matches and Memorable Moments

The high school football season in Vermont has kicked off, and fans are already treated to some exciting matches. As always, schools from various parts of the state have shown up ready to compete, bringing both passion and talent to the field.

In a recent thrilling game, Mount Mansfield edged out Essex with a score of 2-1. This match had all the excitement fans could hope for. Mount Mansfield’s Finn Monahan scored a spectacular goal with just 12 seconds left on the clock, sealing the victory for his team. The team showed resilience, coming back just in time to grab the win in front of their home crowd.

Another notable game saw South Burlington defeat Colchester with a close score of 1-0. The winning goal came from Thierry Copeland, who expertly converted a penalty kick late in the second half. Meanwhile, Rice had a solid performance, confidently taking down Vergennes with a score of 3-1.

On the girls’ side, South Burlington made a strong statement with a dominating 8-0 win against Burlington. Elise Knoth and Jill Coucke both contributed with goals and assists, showcasing the depth of their squad.
