WAXHAW, N.C. — The small town of Waxhaw is mourning the loss of Dianne Bethune Godfrey, who passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at the age of 78. A beloved resident, Godfrey is remembered by many for her kindness and involvement in the local community.
Dianne was born on June 22, 1946, in Guilford County, N.C., to parents Graham Bethune and Thresa Ellison, both of whom have passed away. Godfrey dedicated much of her life to her family and her community, touching the lives of those around her with her warm spirit and generous heart.
A funeral service has been scheduled to honor her life and legacy. The service will take place on Saturday, November 23, 2024,, at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Indian Trail, located at 732 Indian Trail Fairview Road, Indian Trail, NC 28079. Following the service, Godfrey will be laid to rest in the Waxhaw Baptist Church Cemetery.
Prior to the funeral service, family and friends are invited to gather and pay their respects from 1 to 1:45 p.m. in the church sanctuary. This time allows attendees to share memories and connect with one another in memory of Dianne.
