How It Happened
High Point took an early lead in the second inning with Miggy Echazaretta’s RBI single, followed by Carr’s home run in the third inning and Eric Grintz’s solo homer in the fourth inning. Winthrop fought back with Affholter’s home run in the fifth inning and Wilson’s two-run homer in the sixth inning to tie the game. The Eagles then took the lead in the seventh inning with back-to-back RBI singles. However, a late rally by the Panthers in the eighth inning secured the win.
