Games between Rutgers and Winthrop will take place at the well-known Winthrop Ballpark. Three games are scheduled, kickstarting on Friday, February 16th, carrying onto Saturday, February 17th, and concluding on Sunday, February 18th. Each game is slated to start at 4:00 p.m. ET, 2:00 p.m. ET, and 1:00 p.m. ET respectively.
This game marks the first meeting between Winthrop Eagles and the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. As per predictions, the Winthrop Eagles, who ended the 2023 season with a balanced 28-28 record, are expected to finish fourth in the Big South Conference this year.
Standout player Nicholas Badillo, who led the team in batting average (.360), slugging percentage (.540), and on-base percentage (.453) during his freshman campaign in 2023, has been voted to the Big South Conference Preseason All-Conference Team. Coach Tom Riginos, who has been leading the team for 14 years, remains at the helm.
