In another thrilling overtime match, Winthrop University Eagles seized an 82-80 win against USC Upstate. This marks the Eagles’ second consecutive overtime victory, heightening the spirits and anticipation for the next matches.

The fiery confrontation took place at USC Upstate’s G.B. Hodge Center on Saturday, and it was a nail-biting event for both teams’ fanbases. Winthrop’s Kelton Talford spearheaded the Eagles’ attack with his stellar performance of 18 points and nine rebounds.

However, Talford was not alone in his glory. K.J. Doucet contributed 15 points, two rebounds, an assist, two blocks, and a steal. Meanwhile, Micheal Anumba posted commendable performances with 14 points, two rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

Even in defeat, USC Upstate’s Nick Alves put up an impressive fight, scoring 16 points while Ahmir Langlais gained an impressive double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
